Sunshine and Shopping Bags-Island Hopping, Saint Barths

4400 miles from Paris nestled along the Caribbean is the glorious island of St. Barths. Settled in 1648 by French colonists who left behind their Chanel bags, patisseries and their exquisite yachts.

Only 8 square miles surrounding the center hub of Gustavia which is encircled with some of the best shopping in the Caribbean…but bring the plastic with the higher limits! The prices are better in some instances than the states and though the Euro has fallen there are no real bargains but what great window shopping! In fact, this is my favorite place to window shop... when the prices get too high I can sit and watch the yachts bob and look at the blue blue blue of the Caribbean.

Be sure to pop into:

I Love Carat for jewelry

Longchamp of course for styles we don't find here, plus Hermes, Chanel make you feel very Parisian til you realize you have your bathing suit and sandals on..

Inhale and indulge at Ligne St. Barth, try any of their scents and you can feel like you never left the island-love their signature fragrance, Eau de St. Barths and Tiarz.

Fourteen creamy white sand beaches, many protected by reefs provide great sunbathing ---yes we wear our tops but many do not! Shell Beach, Lorient, Grand Cul de Sac…

Skip over to St Jean for small boutiques, glorious beaches and a leisurely lunch by the beach!

You don't need to own a yacht to love this island, though I imagine it's nice to park here!

Foodies indulge! Yummy restaurants by the water’s edge and patisseries to entice…why aren’t French Women fat?
